2-12. ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING (CONT).
Make sure MASTER switch is OFF before repairing
electrical circuits. Failure to observe this warning
could result in injury to personnel.
Disconnect wiring harness from voltage regulator. Place red probe in
Step 5.
receptacle socket G (lead 2) of voltage regulator and ground black probe.
Set MASTER switch ON. If multimeter indicates 0 to 2 volts, go to step 6.
If multimeter indicates 3 or more volts, replace voltage regulator. Refer to
page 2-557. Set MASTER switch OFF. If voltage regulator is replaced,
connect wiring harness to voltage regulator and perform generator-
regulator charging circuit test. Refer to page 2-138.
