WARNING

Stay clear of fan while engine is being cranked. Failure to do so could result in serious

personal injury or death.

Disconnect fuel inlet hose (1) from fuel pump inlet elbow (2). Connect

vacuum gage to inlet elbow (2). While assistant is cranking engine

(TM 9-2320-270-10), note reading on vacuum gage.

If gage shows less than 6 in. (15 cm) Hg of vacuum, replace

fuel pump (page 4-37) and install right side panel and close right

side hood (TM 9-2320-270-10).

b. If gage shows more than 6 in. (15 cm) Hg of vacuum, remove,

clean, inspect and install fuel lines and fittings (page 4-32), and

purge fuel system (page 4-32).

If engine still lacks power, notify direct support maintenance.
