Coil connector
a.
Using test stand, attach
one lead of
(7) and (8)
test lamp to connector (7).
b.
Attach other lead of test lamp to other
connector (8).
If lamp does not light, field coil
is open and starting motor must
be
replaced.
c.
Disconnect test equipment.
69.
Field coils (6)
Inspect for worn or damaged insulation
and frayed or pulled apart connectors
(7) and (8).
70.
Solenoid boot (9)
Inspect for tears, cracks, and brittleness.
71.
All other parts
Check for wear, damage, and defects.
