a.
Using depth micrometer, measure dis-
and adjusting pin (4)
tance from back of guide (10) to
surface of governor housing (14).
b. Using 10-mm open-end wrench, turn
screw (15) in to lower or out to
raise measurement if measurement was
not 1.539 - 1.509-inch (39.09 -
38.32 mm).
c. Repeat steps 104 thru 109 as needed.
111. Governor bolt (5)
New retaining washer
a. Using two 10-mm open-end wrenches,
(16) and nut (17)
screw on and tighten.
b. Using slip-joint pliers, bend washer
(16) against nuts (8) and (17).

Governor link (9)
Move in and out to check for binding.
113. Governor
Governor cover (18)
a. Coat guide pin (20) with clean engine
housing (14)
with gasket (19)
oil.
b. Put cover with gasket (19) on, sliding
guide pin (20) into governor lever (11).
