Fuel injection
a.
Loosen holding fixture, and turn pump
pump (1)
(1) on side.
b.
Tighten holding fixture.
118. Eight barrels (5)
Eight valve gears
Put in.
(7) and sleeves (8)
119. Eight valve
Eight screws (9)
a.
Using 3/16-inch flat-tip screwdriver,
gears (7)
tighten one at a time, checking control
rack (3) movement each time.
b.
Replace any gears (7) causing rack (3)
to bind.
CAUTION
To avoid scratching machined surfaces when installing, and to insure proper sealing of gaskets, make sure all parts
are wet with clean No. 2 diesel fuel.
120. Fuel injection
Eight valve bodies
Put in.
pump (1)
(10), delivery valves
(11), new gaskets (12),
fuel valve springs
(13), and new fuel
filter elements (14)
121.
Eight new retainer
Screw in and tighten to - 25 ft-lb
gaskets (15) and
(29.8 - 33.9 N m) of torque using 7/8-
valve retainers (16)
inch deep well socket and torque wrench
with 3/8-inch drive.
