7-14. TACHOGRAPH REPLACEMENT (CONT)
b. Installation
NOTE
Tachograph is installed properly
when three receptacles are facing top
of instrument panel.
(1) Install tachograph (1) in instrument panel
(2).
(2) Install two support brackets (3) and
knurled nuts (4) on tachograph (1).
(3) Install receptacle (5) in center housing
connector (6) of tachograph (1).
c. Follow-On Maintenance
Install instrument panel (para 7-13).
d. Placing in Service
NOTE
Perform this sub-paragraph only
when installing a new tachograph.
(1) Start engine (TM 9-2320-360-10).
NOTE
Hold engine speed steady for several
seconds before checking.
(2) Check tachograph RPM displayed at idle.
Tachograph should indicate 575-625
RPM.

(4) Connect Diagnostic Data Reader (DDR)
(para 2-13).
(5) Operate the engine at 600, 1000, 1500,
and 2000 RPM as indicated by the DDR.
Compare the tachograph RPM indicated,
at each speed, with the DDR displayed
RPM.
(6) Replace the tachograph if the results are
not within specifications shown in
7-48 Change 1
