Lower engine, front engine, and alternator

Two

access panels removed (para 16-2).

Engine hood opened (TM 9-2320-360-10).

Tools and Special Tools

Tool Kit, Genl Mech (Item 54, Appendix F)

Gage, Belt Tension (Item 12, Appendix F)

a. Removal

(1) Loosen nut (1) on pivot screw (2) on bottom of

(2) Loosen screw (4) on top of alternator (3).

(3) Loosen nut (5) and screw (6) on adjusting stra p

(7).

(4) Loosen adjustment nut (8) on top of alternator

(3).

(5) Tighten nut (9) to pivot alternator (3) in toward

engine (10). Remove two belts (11).
