Coat with clean grease, slide
over ball nut (38), and
position on top cover

Install
Coat with clean hydraulic

oil, and urge onto groove
at large end of rack piston

Install

Poppet (43)
Install

Poppet seat
Install,
Apply degreasing solvent to
(41) and
tighten,
threads of poppet seat (41)
lock washer
and secure
and poppet bore in rack
(42)
piston (12)
Allow to air
dry 10 minutes, then light-
ly coat threads of poppet
seat with stud sealant.
Immediately install poppet
seat (41) with lock washer
(42) and tighten to 25-30
pounds foot . Bend tab of
lock washer against face of
poppet seat as shown

Locking screw
Clean threads
Apply degreasing solvent to
(36)
threads of locking screw
(36) and corresponding bore
in rack piston (12). Allow
to air dry 10 minutes
