Yoke (1)
Lower bearing a.
Place wood block against yoke and
cap (2)
using ball-peen hammer, tap sharply
downward to force cap (2) out of
yoke (1).
b.
Using angle-nose slip-joint pliers,
carefully twist out cap (2).
4.
Shaft (3)
a.
Take hydraulic jack out from under
shaft (3).
b.
Tip cross and lower shaft (3) until
yoke (1) is free.
5.
Differential
Twelve screws (5)
a.
Place dolly-type jack
underneath and
carrier (4)
and lockwashers (6)
make sure jack is secure.
b.
Using 15/16-inch socket and handle
with 1/2-inch drive, unscrew and take
out.
c.
Get rid of lockwashers (6).
d.
Start two puller screws into holes
180 degrees apart.
e.
Using adjustable wrench, screw in
puller screws until carrier (4) is free.
6.
Rear-rear axle
Differential carrier
a.
Using dolly-type jack, move
carrier (4)
housing (7)
(4) and gasket (8)
away from housing (7).
b.
Mount carrier (4) in overhaul stand
c.
Get rid of gasket (8).
