Take off.

Using bearing puller, pull off.

Eight screws (5) and

a. Using scribe, matchmark both cases

b. Using 3/4-inch socket, ratchet handle

with 1/2-inch drive, and 3/4-inch

open-end wrench, unscrew and take

off.

Take off.

Side thrust washer

a. Take out.

b. Get rid of washer (7).

a. Using 7/16-inch socket and ratchet

lockwasher (14)

handle with 3/8-inch drive, unscrew

and take out.

b. Get rid of lockwasher (14).

Take out.

NOTE

Do not separate ring gear from flanged case unless the gear or case is damaged and must be replaced.

Do not use a chisel to cut off rivet heads.

23.

Twelve rivets (15)

a. Using pencil grinder, grind off rivet

heads.

b. Using 3/8-inch blunt-point drive-pin

punch and 3-lb ball-peen hammer,

drive out.

c. Get rid of.
