Fourth clutch
a.
Look for burrs on outer splines and on
housing (5)
inner clutch plate grooves.
b.
Remove burrs with emery cloth or fine
hand file.
c.
Make sure that check balls move freely
in their bores.
ASSEMBLY
NOTE
If packings are not positioned correctly, the fourth range clutch will not operate
properly.

New packing (6)
a.
Lubricate with oil soluble grease.

b.
Put on hub.
Seal lip must face out and down,
towards closed end of housing.

Piston (4)
New packing (7)
a.
Lubricate with oil soluble grease.
b.
Put on.
Seal lip must face out, towards
pressure side of piston.
