a. Screw in until snug, using -inch
socket and ratchet handle with -
inch drive.
b. Using -inch socket and torque
wrench with -inch drive, tighten
to 15-20 ft-lb (20.3 - 27.1 Nm) of
FIRST RANGE CLUTCH INSTALLATION

Internal clutch
Using 3/8-inch flat-tip screwdriver and
housing (3)
plate snapring (4)
12-inch pry bar, take out.
87.
Center support
a Using 9/16-inch socket and ratchet
screw (5) and
handle with 1/2-inch drive, unscrew
lockwasher (6)
and take out.
b. Get rid of lockwasher (6).

Center support
Remove (page 2-650).
89.
Three external
Take out.
tanged clutch
plates (7), three
internal splined
clutch plates (8),
and backing plate (9)
90.
Thrust washer (10)
Place into position.
