Crankshaft (1)
Crankshaft timing
a.
Lubricate inside diameter with clean
gear (2)
engine oil.
b.
Line up keyway and, using camshaft
gear installer, put on.

Nut (3)
a.
Screw on, and tighten using 2-inch
open-end wrench.
b.
Using wrench to turn nut (3) and crank-
shaft (1), line up timing mark on gear
so that camshaft gear (5) timing mark
will line up.

a.
Lubricate inside diameter with clean
gear (5) and
engine oil.

If shims were present in removal, put in.
c.
Line up keyway and timing marks and
using installer and adapter, put on.

Rotate crankshaft (1) to make sure
gears mesh evenly and do not bind.
12. Crankshaft (1)
Nut (3)
Using 2-inch open-end wrench, unscrew
and take off.
13. Camshaft (4)
Nut (7)
a.
Screw on until snug using 1 7/16-inch
impact socket and ratchet handle with
3/4-inch drive.
b.
Tighten to 200-225 ft-lb (271-305 N m)
using 1 7/16-inch impact socket and
torque wrench with 3/4-inch drive.
14. Cylinder block (8)
Crankshaft timing
Repeat step 1 to check gear backlash.
