Step 11 Is an inspection procedure for one cylinder block bore. Repeat procedure for seven other
bores.

Cylinder block
a.
Using cylinder bore gage and setting
bore (4)
fixture, measure each cylinder block
bore (4) at 900 intervals.
b.
Check diameter of bore (4) at
point A and record reading.
c.
Check diameter of bore (4) at
point B.
The difference between readings
is out-of-round dimension. If
out-of-round does not exceed 0.002
inch (0.05 mm), the bore is satis-
factory.
d.
Check that taper from top of bore
point C, (4) to bottom, point D, is
not more than 0.005-inch (0.127 mm).
e.
If any bore (3) does not meet given
limits, replace block (1).

All surfaces

Look for cracks, dents, or distortion.
b.
If you suspect that there are cracks,
do steps 12c thru 12e.
c.
Apply a mixture of light engine oil
and kerosene to the suspected area.
