 a. Check area to ensure a successful firing has occurred. Make sure both canisters have ini-
tiated by checking circumference of both holes for ground disturbance. Refer to FM 5-
250 for safety check. See page 2-18 for misfire procedures.
b. Use entrenching tool and mattock to remove loosened dirt. Refer to FM 5-103 for dig-
ging fighting positions.
c. Retain auger in carrier bag so it can be used with M301 FPE Reload Kit.
