HOW
TO
TROUBLESHOOT
The following steps tell you how to troubleshoot. A diagram of these steps is on page 1-3.
A
D o a visual check of the elevation fire control quadrant and list any faults on DA Form 2404
before making repairs. See Vol II, Chap 3 for what to check for.
I f you see any faults that may affect the performance test, fix them now. This does not mean

small things like painting scratches.

Do the performance test in Vol I, Chap 2 from the beginning until you find a fault symptom.
When a fault symptom is found, go to the chapter noted and follow the maintenance

p r o c e d u r e given there.
After the fault symptom has been corrected, do the performance in Chapter 2 again. This is to

make sure that all fault symptoms have been corrected.
If all fault symptoms are now corrected, do the remaining maintenance tasks on DA Form
F
2404.

D o the final inspection in Chapter 5. Some of the maintenance procedures also require that
y o u do the final adjustment procedure.
The job is over and the good assembly is sent back to service.

I f all fault symptoms were not corrected after step E, the bad assembly is sent back to the
d e p o t for repair.
