(b) Check bolt spacing and alinement

along each lap seam (2) and across the plate between

lap seams.

seam of last plate (1) will slip over bolts in left lap seam

of plate (3).

(d) Install steel washers and nuts, as

described in a (2) above, on bolts in lap seam.

(e) Lift free side of last plate (1, fig. 4-

5) and slide boards (2) under it. Boards will keep plate

clear of bolts in first bottom plate (7) and also act as

slide bars when adjusting the plate.
