d. Spreader Bars, Aspirators, and Shrouds. Fabricate a
cont
MIL-C-104 crate (modified) in accordance with appendix
D-3. Refer to table B-3-11 for a list of materials.
Refer to figure B-3-2 for location of items. Mark to
identify contents.
(1) Exhaust Aspirators and Shrouds.
(a) Disassemble shrouds. Place hardware in a
PPP-B-636 fiberboard box (6 x 6 x 6). Mark box to
identify contents.
(b) Place the curved parts of the shrouds inside each
other and band together with QQ-S-781 seel strap-
t
ping, edge protectors, and seals.
(c) Secure shrouds to skid with QQ-S-781 steel strap-
ping, edge protectors, and seals.
(d) Strap aspirators together and secure to skid with
QQ-S-781 steel strapping, edge protectors, and seals.
(2) Spreader Bars, Slings, and Clevises.
(a) Coat slings with MIL-C-16173, grade 1 preservative
and allow to dry.
(b) Place spreader bars, slings, and clevises into
cradle built on accessory skid and secure.
(c) Place cover over cradle and secure with 12
FF-S-111 No. 8 wood screws 2 in. long.
e. Load Tie Breaker and Cables. Fabricate a MIL-C-104
crate (95 x 110 x 125) in accordance with appendix D-3.
Refer to table B-3-12 for list of materials. Refer to
(1) Load Tie Breaker.
(a) Remove the three arc chutes and reinstall the
phase barriers.
(b) Rack air circuit breaker into place with MM-L-751
lumber (25-1/2 x 2 x 4) (17 x 2 x 4) (5-3/4 x 2 x
4) and block to prevent movement.
(c) Fabricate PPP-B-601 box (23 x 21 x 33) for the arc
chutes in accordance with appendix D-1. Refer to
B-3-25
