FIELD PACKAGING

UNIT RESPONSIBILITY
a.  Certify that equipment is free of ammunition and explosives
b.  Assure to the maximum extent possible that items are in
operating condition. Tag each item to indicate the
degree of serviceability.
c.  Pack all items of equipment in the original containers.
If the containers are not available, fabricate them in
accordance with the instructions provided for Depot
Packaging. Refer to procedures in Depot Packaging for
packing instructions for Field Packaging.

CLEANING AND DRYING
NOTE
Cleaning, drying, applica-
tion of preservatives, and
sealing of barriers should
progress in an uninterrupt-
ed series of operations.
Thorough cleaning and drying shall be accomplished prior to
preservation.

PRESERVATION
a.  Diesel Generator (three for 1500 KW, four for 2000 KW.
)
(1)  Radiator.
(a)  Drain radiator.
(b)  Fill the coolant system to the proper level with
equal parts (by volume) of antifreeze (6850-00-
181-7940) and clean water.
(c)
Prepare a tag (8135-00-292-2345) indicating
"COOLANT SYSTEM CONTAINS WATER AND
ANTIFREEZE EQUAL PARTS BY VOLUME -
DO NOT DRAIN - CHECK COOLANT LEVEL -
IF COOLANT IS LOW, ADD COOLANT OF
THE SAME MIXTURE."
