TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Silicon additives may be used as antifoaming agents in the lubricating oil, thus new oil normally gives a reading of 3-7
PPM silicon
Aluminum particles are commonly found in the transmission pan. Aluminum and cast iron parts have significant amounts of
silicon in their composition.
Transmission is liquid-cooled; therefore, ethylene glycol may be present in the oil. If significant amounts of ethylene glycol
are found, it is suggested that appropriate action be taken because the clutches and seals may be affected accordingly.
