20-6. SPEEDOMETER ADAPTER REPLACEMENT (CONT)
b. Installation
WARNING
On direct contact, uncured silicone sealant Irritates eyes. In case of contact, flush
eyes with water and seek medical attention. In case of skin contact, wipe off and
flush with water.
CAUTION
Do not overtighten adapter mounting nut. Failure to comply may cause adapter
drive key to bind and speedometer may not function.
NOTE
Install adapter so speedometer cable drive end faces no. 1 air reservoir.
Tabs on speedometer adapter and speedometer cable must be aligned with
slots in CTI signal generator and speedometer adapter.
(1) Lightly coat one side of new gasket (1)
with silicone adhesive-sealant.
(2) Install new gasket (1) with sealant side on
CTI signal generator (2).
(3) Install speedometer adapter (3) on CTI
signal generator (2) and turn nut (4)
clockwise to tighten.
(4) Install
speedometer
cable
(5)
on
speedometer adapter (3) and turn cap (6)
clockwise to tighten.
NOTE
Plastic
cable
ties
should
be
positioned  in  locations  marked
during removal.
(5) Secure speedometer cable (5) with plastic
cable ties (7).
c. Follow-On Maintenance
(1)
Lubricate speedometer adapter (LO 9-2320-360-12).
(2)
Remove wheel chocks.
(3)
Release parking brakes (TM 9-2320-360-10).
(4)
Start engine (TM 9-2320-360-10).
(5)
Drive HET Tractor (TM 9-2320-360-10).
(6)
Check speedometer operation (TM 9-2320-360-10).
(7)
Park HET Tractor (TM 9-2320-360-10).
(8)
Shut off engine (TM 9-2320-360-10).
