Crankshaft (1)
One main bearing
a.
Put on plastic gage tape (page 2-46).
cap (3) with lower
b.
Put cap (3) with shell (9) in position
bearing shell (9)
on journal.
c.
Using plastic-face hammer, tap cap
(3) to seat onto block (6).
33.
One main bearing
Two washers (4)
Screw in until snug.
cap (3)
and screws (5)
34.
Cylinder block (6)
Two washers (7)
a.
Using 9/16-inch socket and ratchet
and screws (8)
handle with 1/2-inch drive, screw in
until snug.
b.
Tighten to 40-50 ft-lb (54-61 N m) of
torque using 9/16-inch socket and
torque wrench with 1/2-inch drive.
35.
One main bearing
Two screws (10)
a.
Using 13116-inch socket and torque
cap (3)
and washers (11)
wrench with 1/2-inch drive, tighten to
110-115 ft-lb (149-156 N m) of torque.
b.
Using 13/16-inch socket and ratchet
handle with 1/2-inch drive, unscrew and
take out.
