-Organizational is the lowest level that can do complete repair of the item.

-Direct support is the lowest level that can do complete repair of the item.
F
-General support is the lowest level that can do complete repair of the item.
H
-Depot is the lowest level that can do complete repair of the item.

- N o n r e p a r a b l e . No repair is authorized.
Z
- N o repair is authorized. (No parts or special tools are authorized for the
B
m a i n t e n a n c e of a "B" coded item.) However, the item may be reconditioned
by adjusting, lubricating, etc., at the user level.
R e c o v e r a b i l i t y Code. Recoverability codes are assigned to items to indicate the

d i s p o s i t i o n action on unserviceable items. The recoverability code is entered in the fifth position of
the SMR Code as follows:

- N o n r e p a r a b l e item. When unserviceable, condemn and dispose of the item

at the level of maintenance shown in 3rd position of SMR Code.
- R e p a r a b l e item. When uneconomically reparable, condemn and dispose of

the item at organizational level.
- R e p a r a b l e item. When uneconomically reparable, condemn and dispose of
F
the item at the direct support level.
- R e p a r a b l e item. When uneconomically reparable, condemn and dispose of
H
the item at the general support level.
- R e p a r a b l e item. When beyond lower level repair capability, return to depot.
D
C o n d e m n a t i o n and disposal of item not authorized below depot level.
-Item requires special handling or condemnation procedures because of
A
s p e c i f i c reasons (e.g., precious metal content, high dollar value, critical
m a t e r i a l , or hazardous material). Refer to appropriate manuals/directives for
s p e c i f i c instructions.
FSCM (Column (3)). The Federal Supply Code for Manufacturer (FSCM) is a 5-digit numeric
C.
code which IS used to identify  the manufacturer, distributor, or Government agency, etc., that supplies
