Engine shut off (TM 9-2320-360-10).
Tool Kit, Genl Mech (Item 54, Appendix F)
Parking brake on (TM 9-2320-360-10).
Socket Wrench Set, 3/8 In. Drive (Item 45,
Wheels chocked.
Battery box cover removed
Wrench, Torque, 0-200 Lb-In. (Item 72
(TM 9-2320-360-10).
Arctic kit batteries disconnected (if
installed) (para 19-2).
Materials/Parts
Lockwashers (4) (Item 120, Appendix G)
a. Disconnection
WARNING
Remove rings, bracelets, watches,
necklaces, and any other jewelry
before working around HET Tractor.
Jewelry can catch on equipment and
cause
injury
or
short
across
electrical circuit and cause severe
burns or electrical shock. Batteries
can explode from a spark. Battery
acid is harmful to skin and eyes.
(1) Remove nut (1), lockwasher (2), two
washers (3), two cables (4 and 5), wire no.
1813 (6), and screw (7) from battery
terminal (8). Discard lockwasher.
(2) Remove nut (9), lockwasher (10), two
washers (11), cable (5), two wires no. 150
(12), and screw (13) from battery terminal
(14). Discard lockwasher.
