5-4. TAIL PIPE ASSEMBLY REPAIR (CONT)

(2) Install exhaust support brace (5) on winch

platform (2) with two screws (6) and new

locknuts (7) with aid of assistant.

d. Tail Pipe Installation

WARNING

Support tail pipe when installing to

prevent

from

falling,

possibly

causing injury to personnel.

NOTE

Tail pipe is installed over muffler.

(1)

Install tail pipe (1) on muffler (2) with aid of

assistant.

(2) Support tail pipe (1). Align two holes in clamp

base (3) with upper holes in tail pipe assembly

support (4).

(3) Insert clamp (5) through two holes in tail pipe

assembly support (4) and clamp base (3).

(4) Install two new lockwashers (6) and nuts (7) on

clamp (5). Do not tighten.

(5) Align two holes in clamp base (8) with lower

holes in tail pipe assembly support (4).

Insert clamp (9) through two holes in tail pipe

assembly support (4) and clamp base (8).

(7)

Install two new lockwashers (10) and nuts (11)

on clamp (9). Do not tighten.
