NOTE
Example: If cross shaft (42) spur gear has diameter of 4 inches, radius would be 2 inches. 5 pounds pull
on scale would equal 10 pounds inch bearing preload torque. Use rotating, not starting torque. Add
shims (41) on side opposite drive gear (40) to reduce preload. Subtract shims (41) to increase preload.
Correct preload torque is 5-15 pounds inch.
