Voltage reading in step 28 should be 2-4 volts higher than voltage reading in step 26. Do
steps 29 and 30 only if voltage reading in step 28 is too high or too low.
Shut down (TM 9-2320-270-10).

Voltage adjustment
30. Alternator (1)
b. Unplug.
cap (2)
c. If voltage was too high, rotate to next
lower position and plug in.
d. If voltage was too low, rotate to next
higher position and plug in.
Repeat steps 26 thru 30.
If adjusting the alternator required turning adjustment cap higher than HI or lower than
LO, replace alternator.
