Rear-rear axle
New gasket (2) and
a.
Remove differential carrier (3) from
housing (1)
differential
overhaul stand and support on dolly-
carrier (3)
type jack.
b.
Apply 118-inch (3.1-mm) bead of
gasket sealant on housing (1).
c.
Put on gasket (2).
d.
Line up carrier (3) with housing (1)
using dolly-type jack and roll into
place.
Use a pry bar to help straighten
carrier, but be careful not to
damage mating surfaces.
88.
Differential
Twelve new lock-
Screw in, and tighten to 80-90 ft-lb
carrier (3)
washers (4) and
(109-122 N m) of torque using 15/16-
screws (5)
inch socket and torque wrench with 1/2-
inch drive.
