Replace damaged parts as needed.

All bearings
Inspect (TM 9-214).
36.
All bearing cups
Look for signs of wear, scoring, and
discoloration.
If any bearing cone or bearing
is damaged, replace both parts.

All gears
a.
Look for broken, nicked, and chipped
teeth.
b.
Look for score marks.
c.
Look for cracks and distortion.
d.
Look for twisted splined.
If any gear within any set is damaged,
replace all gears in the set.
38.
Differential
a.
Look for cracks, breaks, and dents.

Look for nicks, burrs, and deep
scratches on mating surfaces.
c.
Look for damaged threads.

Bearing cage (2)
a.
Look for cracks, scratches, and score
marks.

Look for discoloration due to over-
