New bearing (2)
Using arbor press, press on.

Input gear (1)
a. Support rear face of case (3) on arbor
differential
press.
case (3)
b. Position gear (1) on case (3) and,
using press, press in gear (1) as far
as possible.
31.
Idler gear (1)
Snapring (4)
a.
Put on snapring (4) using snapring
pliers.
b.
Take case (3) out of press and turn
over, bearing side up.
c.
Press on gear (1) until snapring (4)
seats firmly against shoulder of case
(3) using arbor press.
d.
Take case (3) out of press, and turn
right side up.
32.
Locknut (5)
a.
Using wood block, jam gears.
b.
Screw on, and tighten using 3 1/8-
inch socket and ratchet handle with
1-inch drive.
c.
Take out wood block.
d.
Using 3-lb ball-peen hammer and 3/8-
inch drive-pin punch, stake nut.
