100. Forward-rear axle
New gasket (2)
a.
With aid of assistant, remove differ-
housing (1)
and differential
ential carrier (3) from overhaul stand
carrier (3)
and support on dolly-type jack.
b. Apply 118-inch (3.1 mm) bead of gasket
sealant on housing (1).
c. Using dolly-type jack, line up carrier
(3) and gasket (2) with housing (1),
and roll into place.
A small prybar may be used to help straighten
carrier.
101. Differential
Twelve new
Using 15/16-inch socket and torque wrench
carrier (3)
lockwashers (4)
with 3/4-inch drive, screw in and tighten
and screws (5)
to 80 - 90 ft-lb (109 - 122 N m) of torque.
