If you are servicing right side knuckle, do not do steps 12 thru 15.

Upper steering
Cotter pin (2) a.
Using angle-nose slip-joint pliers,
arm (1)
straighten and pull out.
b.
Get rid of.

Nut (3)
Using 1 718-inch socket and ratchet
handle with 3/4-inch drive, unscrew
and take off.
14.
Steering knuckle (4)
Upper steering Using 3/4-inch brass driftpin and 3-lb
arm (1)
ball-peen hammer, drive out.

Upper steering
Woodruff key (5)
Using 3/16-inch drive-pin punch and
3-lb
arm (1)
ball-peen hammer, tap out.
16.
Lower steering
Cotter pin (7) a.
Using angle-nose slip-joint pliers,
arm (6)
straighten and pull out.
b.
Get rid of.
17.
Nut (8)
Using 1 7/8-inch socket and ratchet han-
dle with 3/4-inch drive, unscrew and
take out.
18.
Steering knuckle (4)
Lower steering Using 3/4-inch brass driftpin and 3-lb
arm (6)
ball-peen hammer, drive out.

Lower steering
Woodruff key (9)
Using 3/16-inch drive-pin punch and
3-lb
arm (6)
ball-peen hammer, tap out.
NOTE
Do not remove bushings unless inspection shows they must be replaced. Go to step 29 for inspection
guidelines.
20.
Steering knuckle (4)
Upper bushing (10) a.
Using knuckle bushing remover
sleeve
and 3-lb ball-peen hammer, drive out.
b.
Get rid of.
21.
Lower bushing (11)
a.
Using knuckle bushing remover sleeve
and 3-lb ball-peen hammer, drive out.
b.
Get rid of.
