First clutch
Put in, flat side first.

a. Using 3/8-inch flat-tip screwdriver,
snapring (3)
put in.
b. Using first clutch gage, check clear-
ance between snapring (3) and backing
plate (2).
Clearance should be between 0.063-
0.136-Inch (1.60-3.45 mm). If
clearance Is correct, small end of
gage will fit but large end will not.
c. If clearance is not correct, measure
the total clutch pack thickness.
Replace clutch plates with thicker or
thinner plates to get correct clear-
ance. If necessary, replace backing
plate with a thicker or thinner plate.

Sun gear thrust
a. Grease with oil soluble grease.

b. Put on.
