LOW RANGE CLUTCH CLEARANCE CHECK - CONTINUED
67.
Low clutch
a. Using depth micrometer, measure
piston (5)
distance from the top of piston (5)
to the top of gasket (4).
b. Write down measurement.
c. Subtract this measurement from
measurement taken in step 65 to get
the low clutch running clearance.
The clearance should be 0.072 -
0.130-inch (1.82 - 3.30 mm), but
this clearance should be brought
as close to the lower dimension as
possible by choosing thicker Internal
spline clutch plates. This will
reduce distance low clutch piston
must move. The low clutch piston Is
available In three thicknesses.
