Using thickness gage, check
clearance.
Clearance should be 23/64-inch
(9.13 mm). If clearance Is
correct,
go to step 164. If clearance
needs
adjustment, go to step 162.

Drive clutch (3)
Push to take up movement.

Plunger assembly (4)
Shaft nut (5) Using 1/2-inch deep well socket and
ratchet handle with 3/8-inch drive, turn
either way to adjust pinion gear (2)
clearance to 23/64-inch (9.13-mm)
between gear (2) and housing (1).
