Clean slipring surfaces (2) with 400

grain polishing cloth.

Rotor must be turned while polishing

to prevent flat spots on the

sliprings.

Look for cracks or damage.

Rotor (1)

Look for bent shaft ends and badly worn or

out-of-round sliprings (2).

Repair rough out-of-round sliprings

by turning them on a lathe. Remove

only enough material to make smooth

and round. Use 400 grain or polishing

cloth.
