Gasket (2)
a. Take off.
b. Get rid of.

Packing (3)
a. Using 1/8-inch flat-tip screwdriver,
take off.
b. Get rid of.
TESTING
WARNING
Keep away from injector tip when testing. Fuel spraying from nozzle tip is under high pressure and can
penetrate skin, causing infection.
12.
Injector (1)
a. Connect to nozzle test pump filled with
clean No. 2 two diesel fuel, and
operate pump until fuel sprays from
from tip (4).
b. Operate nozzle test pump, and check
fuel spray pattern and opening pressure.
c. If spray pattern is irregular or opening
pressure is below 2500 psi
(17237.5 kPa), repair or replace as
needed.
