TROUBLESHOOTING - CONTINUED
MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
8. UNDERCHARGING
Step 1.
Connect test light.
a.
Lift latches (1), and take off battery box cover (2).
b.
Connect test light from battery ground cable (3) to frame (4).
c.
Check, and turn off all electrical switches.
Step 2.
Find faulty harness (5).
a.
Using diagram, find all harness connections (6).
b.
While assistant watches test light, disconnect harness leads
(5) one at a time using applicable maintenance procedure as
needed, working towards power source until test light goes out.
c.
Disconnect faulty harness (5).
Step 3.
Inspect faulty harness (5).
a.
Using diagram, find all components (7) in faulty harness (5).
b.
Follow harness (5) from components (7) towards power source,
and check for broken casing, wear, or pinched sections.
c.
Replace or repair as needed using applicable maintenance
procedure.
Step 4.
Test faulty harness (5).
a.
Using test light, connect ground side of each component (7) and
switch (8) in harness (5) to ground, one at a time, working towards
power source. Note any sections of harness (5) where test light
comes on.
b.
Replace or repair as needed using applicable maintenance
procedure.
c.
Connect remaining harnesses (5).
