(2) To clean the weighing compartment interior, arrest the balance; remove the weighing pan and wipe the
interior clean, using a water damp chamois. Wring the chamois dry and wipe again, removing all traces of water.
Remove dust particles, using a camel's hair brush. Clean and replace the weighing pan. Sliding glass doors may be
removed for cleaning. Wipe the exterior of the balance clean, using the water damp chamois. Do not attempt to clean
the balance mechanism, other than the weights and knives.
CAUTION
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE BALANCE. Only a skilled service repairman with factory
facilities available should attempt repairs.
b. Scale Illumination. Scale illumination can be increased by adjusting bulb contact to provide maximum bulb
brightness. If additional illumination is desired, remove the hood and loosen the knurled head screw (7, fig. 2-30) which
holds the cover on the recessed lamp housing in the left rear of the balance. Slide the cover from side to side and up
and down until the desired illumination is obtained. Tighten the knurled head screw firmly while holding the cover in
position. A replacement bulb is available and is stored in the lower spare mount.
