from final drive pinion shaft (7). Push final
drive pinion shaft into final drive housing
until clear of transmission.

Apply brakes and apply parking brake.

Start engine and shift transmission into 4th gear.

If transmission oil temperature gets over 300 F (149 C) during any test, stop engine
and troubleshoot transmission. Refer to page 2-43.
Run engine at 1600 to 1900 rpm for 3 to 8 minutes, or until transmission reaches about 220 F

(140 C).

Shift transmission through all ranges several times.

Shift transmission to neutral (N). Increase engine speed to 1350 (1200 to 1500) rpm.
During warmup period, check transmission for leaks. Tighten loose bolts, plugs, and hose

fittings. Replace damaged or missing parts. Refer to page 2-748 and page 2-749. If leakage
cannot be stopped, notify direct support maintenance and stop pressure tests.

Check transmission oil level. Oil level must beat FULL mark on dipstick. Add or drain oil as
necessary. Refer to the PMCS/lubrication table, page 2-13.
