18-17. DATA PLATES REPLACEMENT

Engine shut off (TM 9-2320-360-10).
Tool Kit, Genl Mech (Item 54, Appendix F)
Parking brake on (TM 9-2320-360-10).
Drill, Electric, Portable (Item 8, Appendix F)
Wheels chocked.
Drill Set, Twist (Item 9, Appendix F)
Engine hood opened (TM 9-2320-360-10).
Materials/Parts
Screws (4) (Item 159, Appendix G)
a. Removal
NOTE
All riveted data plates are replaced
the same way.
Refer to TM 9-2320-360-10 for data
plate locations.
(1) Drill off heads of four rivets (1) using 3/16
in. (4.8 mm) drill bit.
(2) Remove data plate (2) from rivets (1).
(3) Push remaining portion of rivets (1) out of
mounting holes (3).
b. Installation
Install data plate (2) with four new screws (4).
c. Follow-On Maintenance
(1) Close engine hood (TM 9-2320-360-10).
(2) Remove wheel chocks.
