56. TANDEM AXLE NOT TRACKING PROPERLY.

Step 1.

Check all tires (1) for correct pressure (TM 9-2320-270-10).

If pressure is low, add air (TM 9-2320-270-10).

Step 2.

Check U-bolts (2) for damage or looseness (page 4-1).

a. If U-bolts are damaged, notify direct support maintenance.

b. If U-bolts are loose, torque to 225-275 ft-lb (305-373 rim).

Step 3.

Check springs (3), walking beam (4), and spring pins (5) for damage

If springs, spring pins, or walking beam are damaged, notify direct

support maintenance.
