Solvent burns easily. Solvent fumes can explode. Do not smoke or allow open flame nearby when using solvent.
Failure to observe these precautions could cause serious injury or death.
All metal parts
a. Clean in drycleaning solvent.
b. Dry with clean, dry rags.
For more information on how to inspect parts, go to General Maintenance Instructions (page 2-46).
Replace damaged or defective parts as needed.
Inspect (TM 9-214).
a. Look for scratches and score marks.
b. Look for discoloration that may be a
sign of overheating.
a. Look for worn, chipped, or broken
b. Look for deep scratches and score
c. Look for cracks and distortion.
d. Look for twisted and cracked splines.
e. If any gear within a set is damaged,
replace all gears in that set.
