STEERING KNUCKLES AND KINGPINS - CONTINUED

being serviced, skip step 1 and begin at step 2.
REMOVAL
1.
Left side
Drag link Removal (TM 9-2320-269-20-1).

Bracket (1)
Screw (2), lock-
a.
Using 7/16-inch socket, 6-inch
washer (3), and
extension, and ratchet handle with 3/8-
nut (4)
inch drive, unscrew and take out.
b.
Get rid of lockwasher (3).

Clip (5) and
Take off, and move out of the way.

Two knuckle caps (7)
Two lubrication Using 7/16-inch open-end wrench,

unscrew and take out.

inch socket, and ratchet han dle
with 3/8-inch drive, unscrew and
take out.

Get rid of lockwashers (10).

Nut (14) and  Using 9/16-inch deep well socket and
washer (15)
ratchet handle with 318-inch drive,
unscrew and take out.

Draw key (16)
Using 3/16-inch drive-pin punch and
3-lb ball-peen hammer, drive out.

Steering
Kingpin (17)  Using bronze 3/4-inch driftpin and
knuckle (11)
3-lb ball-peen hammer, drive out.
