WARNING
Diesel fumes can explode. If welding of fuel tank is necessary, always work in well-ventilated area,
and keep tank full of water at all times. Failure to follow these precautions could cause serious
injury or death.

All parts
a.
Using putty knife, clean off
old gasket material.
b.
Using wire brush, clean all threads.
c.
Wash in clean diesel fuel.
d.
Wipe dry with clean, dry rags.
INSPECTION/REPLACEMENT
NOTE

Flyweight springs are color-coded. If replacing, always use same color code to insure proper
operation.
62.
All parts
a.
If cracked or worn, replace.
b.
If threads are stripped, replace.
c.
If gasket surfaces are scratched or
warped, smooth with crocus cloth or
replace as needed.
d.
If sliding parts are burred, binding, or
loose, smooth with crocus cloth or re-
place as needed.
e.
If bearing races are grooved or
scratched, replace using press.
ASSEMBLY/ADJUSTMENT

Governor
Two spring seats (2)
a.
Put in seats (2) and two trial spacer
flyweight (1)
and cylinder nuts (3)
bushings.
b.
Screw on nuts (3) until snug.
64.
New governor bolt
Screw on until snug.
