Crankshaft pulley
Screw on, and tighten using 2-inch open-
nut (2)
end wrench.
NOTE
Connecting rods and their caps are numbered for proper placement.
All connecting rod bearing caps are installed the same way. Repeat steps 47 thru 49 for each cap.

Using 2-inch open-end wrench, turn crank-
and attaching parts
shaft until rod (3) is lined up with rod
journal.

Make sure cap (4) is the correct one
and crankshaft (1)

Using plastic-face hammer, tap into
shell (5)
place.

Screw on until snug using 11116-inch
bearing cap (4)

socket and ratchet handle with 1/2-
inch drive.

Tighten to 53 - 57 ft-lb (72 - 77 N m)
of torque using 11/16-inch socket and
torque wrench with 1/2-inch drive.

Release torque load to zero.
d.
Using 11/16-inch socket and ratchet
handle with 1/2-inch drive, tighten.
e.
Tighten again to 53 - 57 ft-lb
(72 - 77 N m) of torque using 11/16-
inch socket and torque wrench with
1/2-inch drive.

Using 11/16-inch socket and ratchet
handle with 1/2-inch drive, turn each
nut (6) an additional one-sixth turn,
or one flat of the nut (6).

Using ball-peen hammer, tap in.

Apply clean engine oil to inside
