24. OPERATE IMPROPERLY - SLOW, JERKY, OR NOT AT ALL - CONTINUED
Step 4.
Inspect winch drain (1) and clutch (2).
a.
Remove winch (3) (page 2-1785, 2-1831, or 2-1815).
b.
Disassemble and repair, or replace parts as needed.
c.
Install winch (3) (page 2-1785, 2-1831, or 2-1815).
25. OPERATE NOISILY - KNOCK, WHINE, OR GRIND
Inspect winch (3).
a.
Remove winch (3) (page 2-1785, 2-1831, or 2-1815).
b.
Disassemble, and repair or replace as needed.
c.
Install winch (3) (page 2-1785, 2-1831, or 2-1815).
26. WINCH CONTROLS DO NOT OPERATE
Step 1.
Check winch controls (4) and motor controls (5).
a.
Move controls (4) or (5) and check for loose, broken, and binding
parts.
b.
Tighten, or replace as needed using applicable maintenance
procedure.
c.
Lubricate (LO 9-2320-269-12).
Step 2.
Test hydraulic system pressure (TM 9-2320-269-20-2).
If pressure is low, see HYDRAULIC SYSTEM - LOW OR NO PRESSURE
Step 3.
Test control valve (6) pressure.
a.
Find hydraulic lines from control valve (6) to faulty winch (3).
b.
Remove control valve outlet line (7) using applicable maintenance
procedure, and install in line pressure gage.
