3. USES TOO MUCH OIL - CONTINUED
Step 1. Check for external leakage - Continued
e. If oil filters (7), oil pressure sending unit (8), oil pressure
lockout switch (9), or air compressor (10) leak, replace as needed
(TM 9-2320-269-20-1).
f. If oil cooler (11) or gasket (12) leak, replace as needed
Step 2. Check for internal leakage.
a. Unscrew, and take off surge tank cap (13).
b. If coolant has oil in it, or is foamy, go to step 6 of CRANKS BUT
WILL NOT START (page 2-4) and test engine compression.
c. Remove oil cooler (11) (page 2-218). Pressurize the coolant sec-
tion of cooler (11) to 70 psi (482.65 KPa) and check for leaks. If
cooler (11) leaks, replace and install (page 2-218).
d. Screw on surge tank cap (13).
